Passion Flower (Maypops)

Breathtaking purple blooms give this plant its common name.

It may be that this plant has the secondary name of "Maypops" because the seed pods "may pop" beneath ones' shoe as one steps through tall grass and happens upon this rambling, climbing when it can, vine.

Bees are often tending to the cycle of pollination of this plants' extraordinary blossom.
