but the fishing sure was!

Vince Grippi brought in this weighty sturgeon on Chris Grippi's boat in one of the region's numerous channels on February 5, 2003.

As I believe the tale goes, he was on a cell-phone speaking with his Mom on his birthday when this fella hit. Just after she'd said something about feeling lucky for him.

Iloe remained on the phone throughout the ordeal of bringing it in.

Not a bad birthday package!
